Bonding

bondingWhen you are looking for a way to repair slightly chipped, discolored, or crooked teeth with minimal work then Bonding is your answer. Basically what happens when we do dental bonding is that we place a white filling onto your tooth and this will help with the appearance of the tooth. The filling comes in a variety of shades to match the appearance of your other teeth and will “bond” with your tooth.

An alternative to having amalgam filing “i.e. silver fillings” is to use bonding to fill in the tooth. This gives a more natural appearance and can be used on front or back teeth depending on the extent of tooth decay.

Another advantage to bonding is that it tends to be a less expensive way to enhance your smile and usually only takes one visit to the office. The disadvantage to bonding is that in can chip or break more easily than other treatments and will stain as well. If you have any trouble with chips or breaks they can usually be easily patched or repaired on your next visit.
