Ask a Question:

Dear Patients and Friends:

Everyone at Arlington Dental Team hopes that you have stayed safe (and sane) during the COVID 19 Pandemic. We have missed seeing all of you and providing your dental care.

We have made the following measures to ensure the safety and health of staff and patients:

1. Installation of Air Scrubber with UV light units in the air duct system. These are designed to sanitize the air in the dental office and the UV light activates a photocatalyst agent that will cause increased oxidation that will protect the air and surfaces from contaminants, fungi, bacteria and viruses.

2 .WashingtonREIT, our landlord, will be installing MERV 13 air filters. These are designed to trap particulate matter as small as 2.5 microns, which include: bacteria, viruses, tobacco smoke and proplet nuceli (emitted from sneezing). The building draws air from outside continuously, so air is never recirculated.

3. Each dental operatory/treatment room will have UV-C light air sanitizer.

4. “High touch” areas such as door handles and elevator buttons are wiped down multiple times daily. Hand sanitizers available in elevator lobby and within the dental office.

5. Plexi-glass barriers will be in place at our reception desk and front desk staff will be wearing surgical masks and gloves.

6. Clinical staff members will utilize N95 masks and surgical gowns as PPE in the treatment areas.

7. Patients’ forehead temperature will be taken prior to treatment.

8. Patients will need to rinse with 3% Hydrogen Peroxide prior to treatment. Studies have shown that viruses can be inactivated when exposed to H2O2; coronavirus and influenza virus being the most susceptible.

9. In addition to our routine disinfecting protocol, we use a cold fogging machine with electrolyzed water--which attacks the lipid barrier of viral particles.

As patients, we ask that you do the following:

1. Please arrive on time and no earlier than 5 minutes before your appointment to prevent crowded waiting room.

2. Wear a facial covering/mask until you are seated in the treatment areas.

3. Only patients will be allowed in treatment areas.

4. If you are sick, please stay home and reschedule your appointment when you are symptom-free for at least 72 hours/3 days.

5. If you or someone close to you have COVID 19 symptoms: stay home for 14 days, do not leave home until fever-free for 72 hours AND at least 7 days have passed since symptoms first appeared.

6. If you have been in a “hot-spot,” we ask that you self-isolate for 14 days prior to scheduling.

7. For our mature and immunocompromised patients: unless it is a dental emergency, we strongly recommend that you postpone your appointment until the situation is stabilized.

8. Please read all e-mail communications from our front desk, forms must be completed online to minimize exposure.

9. PPE/Infection control co-pay of $10 will be collected after dental visit.

These are unprecedented times. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate our “new normal.” The situation is very fluid and we may alter protocols and recommendations, when needed. The doctors, hygienists, and staff of Arlington Dental Team look forward to seeing you soon!
